Notes
Compilation of Norwich (UK) bands from the early 90's.Notes in booklet:
Think of Norwich and what comes to mind? How about a cathedral (or two), mustard, Norfolk Broads, cobbled streets, turkeys and the only football team in Britain that plays in the daring combination of green and yellow. And of course "Sale of The Century". Rock 'n' roll city UK? On such scanty evidence perhaps not.
And with the recent exception of the expatriate pop of Cathy Dennis, what happens when a Norwich band breaks through? Songs about muck spreading and photo opportunities on tractors - consigning every Norwich band thereafter to a silo of carrot crunching, sheep fancying (!) bucolic comparisons.
Showcasing the diversity of musical talent in the area, this project aims to redress more than a few misconceptions and shows why there's a bit of a buzz about the place. Slap it on, turn it up and blow away a few myths about the mainland's Easter-most city.
And now from Norwich, it's the release of the year - "Shoot The Canary".
Enjoy.
